Zoo Melaka's Monthly Night Safari Runs on an RM10 Bila Larut Malam Ticket

Zoo Melaka is opening its gates after dark once a month for RM10, letting visitors watch nocturnal animals in cooler evening temperatures under the Bila Larut Malam programme.

Zoo Melaka entrance in Ayer Keroh

Zoo Melaka has a standing invitation for night owls. On the first Saturday of every month, the Ayer Keroh zoo opens for a Night Safari running from 8pm to 11pm, with the ticket counter closing at 10.30pm.

What the RM10 ticket gets you

Entry is RM10 for Malaysian citizens with a MyKad or MyKid. Visitors who turn up in full traditional Melaka ethnic attire get in free. The event is capped at 1,200 visitors, so early arrival is worth it if you want to beat the queue.

The draw is straightforward: cooler evening air and nocturnal animals that are simply more active after dark than they are on a midday visit.

Part of a bigger late-night push

This is Melaka’s Bila Larut Malam programme in action, the same state government initiative that turned Menara Taming Sari, the Melaka River Cruise, and the Maritime Museum into surprise late-night hits earlier this year. Zoo Melaka now joins that lineup as a monthly fixture rather than a one-off.

If you already have Zoo Melaka on your list from a daytime visit, the night edition is worth building a separate trip around. Based on the confirmed monthly cadence, the next edition falls on 3 October. Pair it with dinner in Ayer Keroh beforehand, since the zoo gates close relatively early elsewhere in the week.
