Clean & Cozy Budget Flat @ Malacca City

Apartment Malacca

A private two-bedroom flat that sleeps up to five, within walking distance of Portuguese Settlement and Melaka Raya. The older building gives way to a freshly renovated, comfortable interior at a budget price.

The Flat

Set on the first floor of Rumah Pangsa Hilir Kota, also known as Hilir Kota Flat or Garden City Flat, this unit gives you the whole place to yourself. Two air conditioned bedrooms sleep up to five across one queen bed, two single beds and a floor mattress. The building is older and reached by stairs, but the interior is freshly renovated, clean and comfortable. It suits travellers who care more about space and location than a polished facade.

What’s Inside

  • Two air conditioned bedrooms (one queen bed, two single beds, one floor mattress)
  • Sleeps up to five guests
  • One bathroom with water heater
  • Free unlimited WiFi
  • Sony LCD TV with Astro NJOI (28 TV channels and 20 radio channels)
  • Refrigerator, microwave and kettle
  • Iron and ironing board, hair dryer
  • Kitchen utensils and cutlery included
  • Clean towels, soap and shampoo for up to five guests

There is no stove, so the kitchen handles reheating and light prep rather than full cooking.

Parking and Arrival

Parking is free in the open compound, though it is not gated. No security deposit is held on your card, and the host meets you on arrival to settle you in.

Getting Around

A breakfast stall sits on the ground floor of the building, serving nasi lemak and local morning favourites before you have even left the compound. Portuguese Settlement is a short walk for evening seafood by the water. Melaka Raya is close by with a 99 Speedmart, laundry and plenty to eat. Jonker Walk and A Famosa are under 10 minutes by car, or 15 to 20 minutes by local bus.

Good to Know

The neighbourhood is quiet, and normal street awareness is sensible after dark. Access is by stairs to the first floor. The exterior looks its age, but the interior is clean and comfortable for the price.
