BAS.MY Melaka:
the complete bus guide.

The bus network that replaced Panorama Melaka in October 2024. Over 50 buses, flat fare, and flexible payment with Touch n Go, credit card, or QR code. Here’s everything you need to ride it.

What is BAS.MY?

BAS.MY (Bahasa for “MY Bus”) is the federal-government-run replacement for Panorama Melaka, which had run the state’s public buses for two decades. The new network launched on 14 October 2024, with a fleet of 51 electric and CNG-powered buses covering 4 local authority areas.

For travellers, the key changes are: payment is fully contactless (Touch n Go, credit card, or QR code - no cash), buses are newer and air-conditioned, and the network now covers areas the old system skipped.

Quick context

The old Panorama Melaka buses are gone. If a guidebook printed before mid-2024 mentions old route numbers, that information is outdated. The new routes all start with M (M100, M10A, M12, etc.).

Routes useful for visitors

Most of BAS.MY’s 21 routes serve residential areas. These are the ones visitors are most likely to need:

RouteFromToKey stops

M100 is the most useful for tourists - it loops through the Bandaraya (city center) area including Little India, Dataran Pahlawan, and Mahkota Parade, running every 20-30 minutes.

M10A is the route for Ayer Keroh attractions. On weekdays it terminates at MITC, but on weekends (Friday to Sunday) it extends to Zoo Melaka and UTEM.

M12 runs to Melaka Airport from 06:00 to 21:00 daily.

How to ride

  1. Pick a payment method

You can pay with Touch n Go card, credit card, or QR code. No cash on most services. If you don’t have a TnG card, pick one up at any 7-Eleven or the Melaka Sentral counter.

  2. Find your route

For current routes and stop-by-stop maps, check bas.my/basmymelaka.php or download the route map PDF. Google Maps also has live BAS.MY tracking.

  3. Board and tap

Look for bright red BAS.MY signage. Wave to flag the bus down - drivers won’t always stop unless they see you. Tap your card, credit card, or scan QR as you board. There is no tap-off; fare is the same regardless of distance.

  4. Press the stop bell

Red buttons along the handrails. Press once when your stop is announced - drivers don’t stop unless someone presses.

When the bus isn’t the answer

  • Inside the heritage core: Walk. It’s faster than waiting for any bus.
  • Late night (after 22:30): Bus has stopped. Use Grab or AirAsia Ride.
  • With luggage from Sentral: Take a Grab (RM 12-15) instead of waiting for a bus.
  • To Zoo Melaka on a weekday: M10A only reaches MITC Monday-Thursday. On weekdays, take a Grab instead.
Best use case

M100 is genuinely useful for getting between Melaka Sentral and the Bandaraya/heritage zone without a Grab. M10A on a weekend gets you to Zoo Melaka at far less than a ride would cost.
